I loved the stylization of the game! I appreciated how it let itself be a spinoff of "No Players Online" while still creating some unique and genuinely scary moments. I felt the plot was a little lacking, but with the short length of the game that is completely understandable.

It's a nice, spooky little game with a neat premise. The retro-style graphics give it some character, and the sound design is spot on. I definitely recommend this to those who enjoy short horror games.

I liked how the intensity builds in the game and you start to feel like "I am doing something horrible". I enjoyed the mystery left at the end as well. All in all, a game worth your time for sure if you're looking for a fun horror game to check out! Great job devs!
Great game, loved the spooky cam effect but gives a little bit of nausea, can't get used to it. Its fun to play. Easy to control character and SFX were awesome. Didn't understand the story though but overall good game.
I'd love to know what I'm doing wrong. I've killed all of the red shirts. I even blew off their heads. I can hear growling near the start of the arena, but no matter where I go, I can't find it's source. Looks like I'm supposed to get a message that says "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE PCMR".
Late reply, but if you go to where you spawned and look left, there's a guy on the other side of the fence that you have to kill. You have to go up the stairs and kind of push up against the fence to do it
A unique idea for a horror game. Most of the time I find that guns really take a lot of the scare out of horror games but this did a great job of implementing it.
So basically, we are playing as a mass murderer who went insane due to the tragic events in his life and percieves everything as a video game and kills himself in the end, or is there a spirit of said mass murderer trapped in a game that he used to play?
Horror films and video games that are set during the daytime, especially outdoors during the daytime, are extremely rare. Some people think that's because daytime horror isn't scary, but I highly disagree. I believe that the reality is that darkness automatically makes things seem somewhat scary to most people, so when you take darkness out of the equation, it is all left up to you as a storyteller to deliberately create something frightening. You don't have the luxury of relying on darkness to help you out when your attempts at causing fear fall flat. Few are willing to take on that challenge, and fewer still manage to pull it off. I am happy to say that Deathmatch 404 succeeds with flying colors, somehow causing me to feel highly uncomfortable and paranoid right off the bat, despite the unassuming brightly-lit environment, and long before anything scary actually happens in the game. With daytime horror, it's all about creating a really uncanny feeling in the player/viewer, and Deathmatch 404 nails it.
hey um lol you should make this games like same everything but with ACTUAL online multiplayer deathmatch and maybe an option to create servers? lol itd be funny if ur opponents were dressed like bots anyways yea maybe?

Advantages:
1. The game is very creey! The way botes acted upon being shot actually gave me goosebumps!
2. The style was very cool! I love these old shooter games. I think it's authentic and charming just like VHS horror games these days.
3. I see how you took the inspiration from No players online but turned the game into an original experience nonetheless. Plot was intriguing!
Disadvantages:
1. I didn't like how the bots could still make sounds even if their head was shot off. Also, they got stuck in the ground a lot.
2. I think the ending turned out to be a bit bland. So if the main character is being tortured so why then it ends at the end? Maybe it would be cooler to make the player infinitely replay some sequences of the game until they are tired? (But of course there should be some rewards for playing through the level a couple of times more. Maybe more lore). Or the ending could have broken the 4th wall a bit more... Like leaving some files on the desktop or something like that as you have already took some steps towards 4th wall breaking.
3. I think the game would benefit a lot from some more spooks as it is a horror game after all. It would be cool if someone would be sprinting towards main character all of a sudden or something like that.
Overall:
I enjoyed the game and I think it was pretty cool but the ending could be a bit more rewarding. I think there is still place for improvement but overall experience was cool and creepy! I would rate the game 4/5 stars.

i tried running it on 720p and that fixed it, i'm gonna go see if any other resolutions work
apparently 1080p just doesn't work, so just try the other resolutions

clipped out of the map in the first 10 minutes. great game so far!
The game has no horrifying jumpscares but it still gave me goosebumps. Midway through the game i was really feeling terrified. I really loveed it.
